Balloon RidE for Quarantine
(Pasadena, California)

Community Sourced Street Light Series
Acrylic, metal leaf on paper.
14” x 11”
2020

I pulled over to snap a picture of this light on my way to visit my family. It was the first time I had driven in a few weeks, so that felt like an adventure!

This painting evolved over and over and over, but the yellow was persistent. You simply cannot feel sad looking at this painting. The roundness of the lantern lends a graphic quality and this painting became a party. It is my quarantine summer reverie on carnivals, county fairs and ice cold lemonades.

This is an original acrylic and metal leaf painting on paper.
